Paleo Air Fryer Fried Mushrooms

paleo fried mushroom

In college, my best friend and I became obsessed with fried mushrooms. Like…we went to this greek place in Stillwater and would only order their fried mushrooms. Then the next day, we’d go to a local bar and grille and order fried green beans, frozen lemonade and fried mushrooms. We were obsessed…and I still am.

When I started eating paleo, I knew I’d miss my typical fried mushrooms! With the addition of my air fryer, I decided to give them a try. I hinted at the paleo air fryer fried mushrooms during day 2 of my Whole30 and I’m so glad I’m able to share these before the Super Bowl!

This is such a great and Super Bowl recipe and I guarantee you, if you make these for your friends and family, they’ll have NO idea they’re paleo. Oh, and personally, we thought they were even better dipped in ranch 😉 just a suggestion!

Air Fryer Fried Mushrooms
Ingredients
  • 1 box mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup tapioca flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1 tbsp old bay seasonins
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs beaten
Instructions
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees

  2. While the air fryer is heating up, wash and cut the mushrooms into fourths.

  3. Mix all of the dry ingredients together

  4. Coat the mushrooms in the egg mixture, then in the almond/seasoning mixture. It’s best to use one hand for the egg and one hand for the almond flour.

  5. Add the mushrooms to the air fryer and cook for 7 minutes, carefully tossing halfway through.
